Property Ownership Documents in the UAE

Curious about the documents that confirm your property ownership in the UAE? Let’s break it down!

Key Documents:

  • Initial Contract (Oqood)
  • Title Deed
Initial Contract (Oqood)

After signing the SPA contract and the developer pays the 4% DLD tax, the Land Department issues a document known as the Initial Contract, also called Oqood. This document confirms your initial property purchase and is especially important when the house is still under construction.

Title Deed

When all installment payments are cleared, the house is completed, handed over, and keys are received, you get the final ownership document – the Title Deed. This document is the ultimate proof of your property ownership. The same applies to the secondary real estate market.
